Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel “Treasure Island” set the modern standard for romanticised stories of pirate adventure. These tales are full of travel, battle, and gold doubloons. Chapter XII begins with tensions of mutiny. Jim, the main protagonist, stows himself away on one of the first boats to head for shore after casting the anchor. Once on land, he quickly separates himself from the rest of the pirate crew and disappears into the landscape hoping to get a head start and find the treasure.
